The standard bag is about three to four feet tall, a foot wide, and hangs from the ceiling using a chain. They are filled with some sturdy material that is both resistant and yielding, usually a type of grain or sand. In addition to the hanging bag, padded stands also provide the same service and are grounded with cement or water. They also come in mold forms, such as a human body, to increase punching accuracy and improve overall martial training. These products specifically may also include sensors to alert the user when a special target area is hit.
Speed bags are a less common tool in regular gyms but a standard tool in boxing gyms. These products are small wide bags that have a horizontal backboard, which the bag will bounce against. This requires the user to focus their strikes and work on speed and accuracy rather than straight strength.
