Home exercise equipment has come a long way in the past few decades. Most people's parents had some sort of weight set in the garage or the basement, but these days, home gyms include state of the art materials as well as computer aided training programs. With these advances, individuals are seeing a much greater improvement in health and results using these products and they are well thought of as a replacement for the standard gym membership.
While a weight set is the most common, other types of equipment are available and fairly standard. The early 90s saw a boom in aerobic products for the home such as the stationary bike and the treadmill. These include computer programs as well to carefully monitor the user and track their ability over time, which leads to more effective training. Machine gyms provide a much higher level of safety than free weights and with tracking software, an entire fitness plan can be performed in the comfort of the home with weight advice and progress tracking usually provided by a paid professional (although, computers are no substitute).
Many of these products easily fold up and can be tucked into a closet or under a bed with very little hassle. Companies now have begun to target multiple cost and fitness markets so buyers have a much greater range of selections when choosing a model to match their budget and lifestyle.
