15 lb kettlebells are a great introductory weight to the world of kettlebells. While most people are familiar with free weights as dumbbells and barbells, many parts of the world prefer a kettlebell. In fact, some people will swear by these products as far superior to any dumbbell or barbell. This might be debatable, however, it is clear that these products are by far some of the best free weights for developing not only major muscles groups, but also toning and harnessing stabilizing muscles for strength and for a great look.
These products look much like a cannonball with a thick handle attached to them. Very similar to dumbbells in principle, with similar lift motions as well, these products actually allow for a unique motion. The nature of the circular shape allows for a swinging motion that creates a certain type of stress on the body muscle's muscles that requires both balance and strength. Just like the balance necessary for free weights, these products create a new dynamic that is even more taxing. For this reason, it is believed that a kettlebell has better results faster than other options such as dumbbells and gym machines.
However, these products do require some training in order to use correctly. In fact, the risk of injury is much higher because of the swinging motion. Fortunately, training doesn't require too much time and the motions stay consistent regardless of the weight, so starting with a small weigh such as 15 lbs is great choice to begin this training safely without the inherent risk.
